I'm posting about this dream I had because I want to archive it into the memory banks of time. I didn't want to lose it because it means very much to me. I've also started this blog because I needed a way to distribute the work I do for school and for side projects. If you're familiar with the "Element" in my name you've probably given my fansub a shot by watching Naruto, Eyeshield 21, and Bleach. Chances are you were tired of the clout a certain fansub group had over these franchises. In any case, I may venture deep into that area again most assuredly. But instead I may take on more vicarious roles instead of head knee deep into a long and arduous series. But onto my main blog, my dream...
It's Sunday night and I'm sleeping. And of course, normal course of action would be to head into dream land or nightmare land whatever flavor suits you. In this case, it was a dream that ended up giving me nightmares. We were on this alien planet, and for some reason I was keeping watch of a civilian outpost. For unknown reasons, we humans tend to stray far from where we are intended and I suppose this was hostile territory. But, me? Keeping watch? I wasn't wearing a flak jacket nor was I armed in any way shape or form. But everyone looked to me with hope, faith and belief. There eyes met mine with a discernible trust. This is the part of the dream called, "the calm before the storm." A huge giant that I'm going to call a "Titan" emerges from the ground and erupts the earth around us sending a few people to their immediate and early deaths while injuring others. This is the part where I fully realize why someone as normal, and in this case not quite so normal, was protecting these people. Because I began moving at an amazing speed, catching people and saving whoever I could from this sudden upheaval.
Then I began my counter-attack. I begin incantations I've only heard about within the confines of my own imagination, "Binding Book, Chapter 2, Entrapment!" as a golden ring encircles the Titan's two hands. I continue my onslaught, "Destruction Book, Chapter 10, Masenko!" a blue beam is summoned from my hands and continues to peg the Titan knocking him back several times. But the giant monstrosity broke my binds and quickly swapped me into a nearby rock face. I gather myself, "Life Book, Chapter 1, Mending!" as my wounds begin to heal. When I looked back and remembered this part of my dream it felt so epic to me. But then I take out this crescent moon trinket, attached to some hearts and stars; chained underneath a long crystal prism, "Destruction Book, Chapter 60, Calamity!"
And that's when it happened. The trinket failed me, and did not summon the calamity on the Titan that I had called for. That's one interpretation. Or...the Titan had landed its giant, rock encrusted foot onto my body as the spell was being cast. I was bring crushed. The pain was excruciating, but forgetful when I awoke. The one thing I saw before I died, was that trinket.
There are many interpretations to this dream; but for me - it may perhaps be best interpreted as a sign of things to come. Being lonely is always tough. But dying alone when there is something to hold on to; that is something beyond death.
